For anyone still trying to scavenge for solutions, Here's my solution: I tried with all of compatibility modes, trying to install over USB, none worked. When I tried to install over the network Without any compatibility mode , it worked flawlessly! What do you mean with over the network? And witch kind of driver did you use? Is any solution? There is an updated driver dated on the HP site. Download the driver. Have a printer cable ready. Yeah totally old style install, but it installs the WiFi. Install the downloaded HP driver and follow the instructions which include connecting the printer to your PC or laptop with the printer cable and disconnecting.
